 About

Arianne Garden Vazquez is a filmmaker and educator. She has over 20 years experience in film/video production. She has worked as Editor, Writer, Director, and Assistant Director for independent films in Cuba, New York City, San Francisco, and Seattle. Her work spans video production with non-profits as well as Amazon and Microsoft producing short films, documentaries and trailers. She was Project Manager for a national digital storytelling project focused on immigrant stories. The project was piloted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and received funding from the City of Seattle. She taught media programs for ten years in the Bay Area where she directed an annual film festival at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, was a board member of Artists' Television Access, and Artist-In-Residence at Southern Exposure. She taught photography and multimedia storytelling at local schools and to homeless youth. While in Brooklyn she was the Director of EPOCA, a Multimedia Community Theater Troupe. She moved to Seattle in 2005 and fell in love with its cultural diversity and unique arts ethos.

She has developed media programs with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, SIFF (Seattle International Film Festival), NWFF (Northwest Film Forum), MoPop (formerly EMP), KCTS 9 Media Lab, Emergency Press, Chief Kitsap Academy part of the Suquamish Tribe, ION Training, Imagos Films, BabuKaju Productions, and CVK Productions. Her focus as a media producer has been in creating collaborative systems of storytelling that challenge hegemony and mainstream aesthetics. Ms. Garden Vazquez has published multimedia curricula through Community LORE's Harvard Family Research Project

I have worked with Arianne for over a decade on productions ranging from in-house corporate training videos to indie films. I am always impressed with her ability to collaborate, her professionalism, and knowledge of almost every aspect of the production process. She has consistently worked within my production timeline and within budget which is a struggle in this business. She provides exceptional resources from story development to post production. I often turn to her for advice in new productions and plan to work with her far into the future.
